Fabulous Friday 2020, XVIII

Happy Friday! Hunting Island opens back up today and I am so excited. A little heartbroken to not be doing the turtle conservation project but hopefully before summers end.

The Jasmine in permeating the air with it’s intoxicating perfume. I love it.

Chick-fil-A is starting a meal kit. I hope our Chick-fil-A has this so we can try it. PS Chick-fil-A I have been using a “meal kit” from you to make buffalo chicken fries so if you want to collaborate then well I’m here.

I slept most of the week sleeping after working last weekend.

I’m off for a few days now so I took some time to do my toes and nails.

This week’s flowers. I can’t wait to continue the doorstep flower delivery in May.

More great work on emotions and this pandemic from Brene Brown.

I watched sunrise from the JC bridge this morning. It was beautiful.

I hope this is true about football but only if everyone can be safe and healthy.

Happy Weekend!

It’s the weekend, well sorta. We both work so it does not feel like much of a weekend.

This week’s blooms. I’m sad this delivery will be over soon.

My hydrangea babies are thriving. Maybe next year I can give some away, after I propagate off these.

This is an awesome bioluminescent video.

Found these Mickey Ice Cream sandwiches at Walmart. They also had a Star Wars version.

Although turtle season is going to look alot different this year, no interventions for now, I am excited to see Mama tracks on the beach soon. Hopefully things will be the new normal but allowing nest moving etc by mid season.

The popular Netflix show Outer Banks was partially filmed on Hunting Island. That is literally the only reason I am watching.

I bought an electric tea kettle from Walmart recently. It’s a nice addition.

I have been working on Em’s 10th birthday surprise. I can’t wait to get it to her. I’m going to send it for printing on Monday because Artifact Uprising is having a sale and also because I could sit and arrange and rearranged for forever.

Happy Weekend!

It’s Friday and our weekend off.

I purchased this beautiful bag from Able. I had a % off leather code. They are based in Nashville and employ women around the world. It’s definitely a company I can get behind. I’m conditioning the leather and it really elevated the beauty.

Im making Em a photo album for her tenth birthday. Its required alot of thinking when did this happen etc. 2013 and up are pretty easy as I started using Amazon photos and then Google to store pics. But before that I used iCloud which I don’t think I can access anymore.

The first Covid patient treated at Beaufort Memorial went home this week.

I’m actually have a week of no nightshift but I am doing a couple of half dayshifts. Whooo!

I have a few or one who knows hummingbird at my feeder but haven’t been able to take a picture yet. He is quick.

I’m looking for a feel good fiction book. Any suggestions?

The squirrels remind me of trapeze artist.

Happy Weekend! Enjoy!

Happy Good Friday. Man, what a time. I hope you are staying well and hanging in there. I hope you have been able to find joys in these new normal, I hope you are holding space for yourself to grieve the losses of our old normal, I hope you are able to turn of the news and social media to connect with yourself and your family, I hope you know it’s ok to not be a hundred percent productive. I’ve seen memes about saving humanity with Netflix and chill essentially but it’s not that easy is it? Give yourself and your people and the world grace. I can’t wait to see how a more beautiful world awaits us on the other side of this.

Blooms of the week.

I feel like all I did this week was work and sleep and that is essentially is true.

I did get my zinnias and sunflowers started but I need to get a raised bed up here and that requires a non essential trip to Lowe’s. It is fun to watch these plant babies grow.

These are two new to me songs I have been enjoying, The Breakup Song and Peace on this Land.

I started and finished this book in a matter of days. It’s exquisite. It’s full of adventure, magic, love and just the right amount of hurt. I’m going to rate this on the top books list of books I have ever read.

I’m loving Brene Brown’s new podcast Unlocking Us, especially the one with Glennon Doyle on her new book, Untamed.

This little guy has been a lovely snuggle buddy this week.

Lilly is having a 30% off sale. I have done my diligence this week to keep the economy going while we are still a two income household. I’ll share my buys when they arrive. Don’t forget to support small, local and give if you are able!

Happy Weekend! Stay healthy and well.

Happy Friday!

We finally got the old rental cleaned and turned in the keys. Glad that’s over.

I hung happy lights on our back porch. Also working on getting some classic white lights up so we can be classic, elegant or happy, party.

I worked this beginning of the week then had my sleep schedule totally messed up. Like today I woke up at almost one pm which for me is bonkers.

Grew this beauty in a portable pot. Isn’t she gorgeous? So many beautiful flowers around these days.

Ryan’s and I were able to pick fresh, local strawberries while practicing social distancing earlier this week. Unfortunately they are closed for the weekend but hopefully open with more ripe berries soon.

This lady was working in a nest in our yard of the old rental. She got scared but hung around a bit. She looked thirsty so I turned on the water.

My local studio has started online Yoga Spa with live yoga Zoom classes, yoga for later viewing and wellness center. Here is a link to join.

I porch dropped these little happies from my own garden in the past week. How are you spreading joy during this time?

We had a waterfront picnic, safe social distancing. It was refreshing to be by the water.

Alicia Keys on Colbert was great. Loved her quarantine song.

A local farm here delivers flowers one day a week for the month of April. I selected the bucket option so I can arrange for my enjoyment. These are beautiful and such a happy sight currently.

Ryan let me trim his hair, I promise he has some left.

Emily Ley launched her 2020-2021 academic planners this week. It was such a lovely, normal thing to have to look forward too. Em and I ordered Happy Floral for our planners and I also got Pineapple Crest as my wellness tracker.

Happy Weekend!

Fabulous Friday 2020, XIII

Happy weekend, lovies. Admittedly nothing really feels too fabulous or to happy right now. I don’t think I am an intuitive empath, but maybe to some degree but I am definitely an emotional empath so all the feels during a world pandemic, yea feeling all the feels ten fold and it’s hard to manage at times. PS: never stop learning and growing and changing. I mean I probably don’t know enough to full fledged embrace the empath label but I think to some degree it rings true. Maybe those close to me will have insight.

It does feel like the world is on fire and all the oxygen is slowly being used up. Because of this I have really been focusing on the gratitude this week.

Tidal treasures. The beach is closing for now. It’s hard because public safety but also my sanity, holy, grounding place.

A sunrise that was pure magic.

All of my fam jam medical cousins are currently healthy.

My cousin made it home safe from Africa earlier than originally planned due to the big C.

A great book.

DIY project for more storage

New planner covers released this week.

I’m still compiling a list of all the good in the world right now stemming from Covid.

I set up camp at the beach for most of the afternoon. I debated trying to hide in the park but only had 1.5 bottles of water and one protein bar. Kidding…sorta.

I saw this homeschool method online. Well really it’s a work place method but I really think it can help alot of people to just get the things out of their brains and also see what you accomplished. I semi do this on my phone list already but like the idea of post its during an extremely difficult time.

Stay safe. Stay home. Wash your hands.

Happy Friday. What in the world is actually going on?

Covid19 essentially took over the world this week. I hope you are surviving and not you are not alone we will get through this. In currently working on a good news post because we all need it.

Since Ryan and I both work in healthcare there is no self isolating for us but we actually have had a few days off so we have been practicing social distancing. We did steal away for a few days with this angel all while still practicing social distancing and safe hygiene.

What is saving your life right now? Let’s help each other out. Not surprisingly my anxiety was through the roof, so I still have been trying to eat healthy, to limit my time on social media and the news and maintain some good routines and things I can control. Annie F Downs is in quarantine do to exposure and I am loving her daily Instastories. Gretchen Rubin also has some wonderful resources.

I have been listening to All the Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer while unpacking, it is an amazing book. PS: if you have the Hoopla app the audio version is free. What else should be on my list? I forgot I preordered Untamed by Glennon Doyle from Parnassus Books in Nashville. I got my shipping email after we changed our address but luckily it still made it.

I spent last Saturday morning watching the sunrise before my stretch of three nights in a row. I was a good morning and something I will try to do more often at the beginning of my work stretches.

My garden has been thriving with ranunclus and finally my daffodils have buds. I cant wait to get some summer seeds going.

Happy Weekend! Hang in there, we got this.

Fabulous Friday 2020, X & XI

Happy moving weekend! Just kidding a wrote this last week a never finished or published it. We are basically all packed and have to load and unload the truck. It’s the packing into the boxes I think that I dread the most and that part is over. We are moved and the downstairs is pretty much done. I finally yesterday (Thursday) felt like I had accomplished somethings and had a somewhat handle on life. Upstairs is a completely different arrangement of boxes. 😂

Last week I just packed, worked, packed, worked. 😂 This week I worked, unpacked, worked and unpacked.

Last weekend was a beautiful start with voting, yoga, the Farmers Market and then the Hilton Head seafood festival. Lots of beautiful flowers and yummy bites. The universe was amazing, my friend won free tickets to the festival then walking in a lady handed us $33 worth of tickets!

Last Sunday Ryan replaced the rotors and brakes on my car while I napped for work. I managed to survive another night shift that’s two down and who knows how many to go.

This weekend starts official flip to working nights so here is the deal, if you need to call or text do it. My text will remain on silent while sleeping and my calls will remain on Do Not Disturb SO if it is an EMERGENCY then call twice to be pushed through to ring.

I did buy a bamboo weighted blanket off Amazon and I am loving it. It’s washable. Also has a cover you can buy. Super soft and has sewn squares to hold the glass beads in place. I feel like I do sleep better with it. I did not get the recommended weight because I was wishy-washy on if I would like it but I definitely do. I’d say if you want to try one out start lighter to get used to it.

I’ve been listening to a cute Sophie Kinsella book and All The Things We Cannot Say while packing/unpacking.

I realized this week we can easily hang party lights on our deck. I’m sure the neighbors would appreciate some classic white lights but man I love some good rainbow ones all mixed together like I did on our old porch.

Amid this crazy covid stuff if you or someone you know needs food for meals since their kids aren’t being fed at school, someone to talk with, love or support don’t hesitate to reach out. We are all in this together. Let’s illuminate the darkness with the light of our own souls.

Happy weekend friends!

Happy weekend! I am pretty excited about our bonus day tomorrow. How are you going to spend it?

This week we came home from being out of town, decided to move and my work schedule flip flopped a bit. So it’s been a crazy week over here.

When we first moved to Beaufort we decided to rent, because we currently owned a house and we wanted to get a feel for the land. Recently we have looked at land for building, house to eventually be investment property and eventually but suddenly settled on the best financial decision would be take our money and fight the student loan interest monster. We luckily found a 3 bedroom townhouse with a view and a SECOND bathroom and dishwasher and more counter space. Overall it isn’t bigger than where we currently are but now maybe more people can visit with a better setup. And we move oh you know next weekend ish. Pictured above is new view. Best get to packing.

I asked people for boxes and boy did the small town life deliver!

I survived one nightshift. My body didn’t like it but I did it. I have been reading alot a out sleep lately and made some improvements to my routine. Weighted blanket. I found this bamboo one on Amazon for cheap ish. It has squares to keep the weight distributed, is washable and a super soft bamboo cover. Sound machine. And a lotion that smells calming and my body will hopefully learn this smell means sleep. Of course that day was a touch and go practice day at the air station. But Ryan saved the day by turning on the air conditioner fan. It’s really loud in the bedroom.

If you need an easy meal idea this wrap from a local pizza joint was amazing. Grilled chicken, balsamic vinaigrette, fresh motz, tomatoes and basil.

Off to packing. Need to find an awesome audiobook to accompany me.

Fabulous Friday 2020, VIII

The beginning of the week found us finishing out a long work stretch but early mid week we were at the most magical place on Earth.

We took our nephew. His sister got to go one time when Em was with us. We had a wonderful time but most things were not enough thrill for him.

We did magically get a free cupcake. We also scored a Rise of the Resistance boarding group and road mid day. No spoilers but it was good…it didn’t top my fav at Disney but it was really cool.

We also scored two fastpasses for Smugglers Run because Ryan makes the fast pass magic happen. Emory was excited to be pilot. He improved the second time.

Definitely excited about our own beds.

I am trying to get a handle on this meal planning deal. I found some good resources like these lunch ideas. And these pantry meal ideas.

We stayed in a different place this time, a condo. More on that in my upcoming Disney update.

I am in love with Cinderella’s Castle royal makeover. I can’t wait to see it.

Hoping my daffodils and ranunculus survived the cold snap while we were gone.

Happy weekend!
