Fabulous Friday 2022, XXII

Happy Weekend! Summer is mostly in full swing.

I worked the first part of the week. Then came out to see my littlest favorite cutie and our family.

Ryan and I got the curtains hung in the master at our new house. There’s still boxes upon boxes to unpack.

We went to see Dr Strange. It was my first movie since Covid started, so of course I got a popcorn and a Diet Coke.

I planted part of my GreenStalk before leaving town. Ryan has instructions to take care of them. Of course when I said I don’t know what to do with my plant babies, he said take them to the plant babysitter meaning my friend Liz who also loves to garden. We both got a laugh out of that. My little hydrangea cutting is doing well but I did have one of my three die.

I hung the pictures of one of my gallery walls, the beach one of course.

We lost the bedsheet suspenders during the move. Somehow they ended up in Millers diaper bag. Somehow being that I thought oh let me put them in the diaper bag where I won’t lose them so we can put the bed back together tonight. I promptly forgot where I safely stored them. And then they flew all the way back to Texas.

I dropped a bottle of olive oil today. At least it wasn’t some extremely expensive super nice oil. It was from Traders. So still nice but it could have been worse. Maybe I’ll check out Eatalys selection soon.

The rest of this time I’ve been mostly hanging out with these cute feet.

Grateful for summer rain, baby rolls, and pesto!

Happy weekend.

Fabulous Friday 2022, XIX & XX AND XXI

Phew! What a few weeks. It’s been packed with birthdays, work and moving!

Ryan and I did manage a quick getaway to Fort Payne to celebrate his birthday early. We did the usual Mexican food, Wildflower Cafe and waterfalls.

We moved from one rental in Northport to a new rental in Tuscaloosa that’s closer to the interstate and therefore work. This picture pretty much sums up how it went. Ha!

We had a cutie stop in for a quick visit

.

We had three birthdays within five days! Em, Teddy and Ryan!

I got a bright refresh for summer!

Grateful to celebrate my people, a new to us house with more room, and a few days of rain!

The next few weeks are jam packed as well!

Happy weekend!

Happy Weekend! And welcome to May on last Sunday.

We had a pretty low key week this past (x2) week. Still slowly moving and getting the new house in clean living order. I bought this rug when we moved to SC and other than the great tomato soup accident a year or so ago is has not been cleaned. It will definitely feel nice to have it clean before we put the furniture on it again.

Tiny seedlings that are late but better late than never! I also bought a GardenStalk during the Mother’s Day sale. I can’t wait to get it set up but these babies need to be a bit bigger.

We hung curtains in the two guest rooms at the new house so some progress. I’ve been frustrated about how slow things are going especially when we have to clean the house again and again it’s been gross! I feel like nothing has officially been checked off the to do list, so the past few days I’ve been working on a large list of every little thing I want to get done.

I babysat these two cuties a few weekends ago!

Friday night we went to the Rs house for dinner and to help with a ballon arch. It turned out great in my opinion.

I made pesto last week from my Aerogarden. I have some basil seeds started to transplant to my GreenStalk.

All set up at the new house for bird friends. My wooden hanging feeder broke in a storm this spring so I decided to try this window one. I need to get a hummingbird feeder up there.

This cutie had her spring band concert. We are so impressed!

Sea turtle nesting season kicked off May 1st! I can’t wait for HI to get their first nest. I will miss this sooooo much.

May is also Mental Health Awareness month. I encourage you to invest in your mental health no matter how “healthy” your mental state feels! There is always room for a tune up and improvement. Do the work, it’s hard but it matters.

Happy weekend!

Happy weekend!

I finally had a Farmers Market Saturday morning last weekend. It was raining but still a pleasant routine feeling.

I spent Easter Dinner with friends who are family. I even got to hold a soft little bunny!

It’s been a busy ish week over here. We began the process of moving into our new rental this week. Still in Tuscaloosa but closer to BHM side. So also address change for any friends interested. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite ready for us as in some of the things supposed to get fixed didn’t and it seems like the cleaning service didn’t clean at all. But by Friday it was looking much better. Thankfully!

I started some seeds, a bit late but was trying to time better with our move and hopefully the Greenstalk Mothers Day sale. I have a few determinate tomatoes of different varieties, zinnias, dahlias, purple basil, and sweet basil.

Our littlest lovie is crawling on of the eve of nine months!

Bird lady reporting for duty. I used to watch the hummingbirds with my Papa so they hold a special place in my heart.

Grateful for a impromptu dinner out with my Brother and friend after work, air conditioning (it was so hot moving some things today!), and yet also heated seats for my old hips 😂.

Enjoy the weekend!

Happy Easter weekend!

It’s been a pretty low key week around here after weeks of activity.

I still have a sore throat but my cough continues to improve and Ryan is all the way better after our having the crud since 3/20 ish and three dr visits between the two of us.

It appears that the lack of turtles and dolphins to watch has caused me to become a backyard bird watcher. I’ve seen a Carolina Wren, hummingbirds and Blue Jays. There was also a smaller blue one that I failed to get good pictures of so I couldn’t identify it.

I’m positively itching to get my summer garden going, but we have access to our new rental next week so I might as well wait til then. Although I might turn the guest bathroom here into a seed nursery. I’m waiting on a Mother’s Day sale for a vertical planter but can go ahead and get my basil and tomatoes going to transplant in a few weeks.

My Aerogarden is thriving. I need to make a small batch of pesto. These snapdragons also make me happy.

I wanted a cute Easter garland for my bookshelves. I couldn’t find one I liked so I made two of these. I adore how they turned out and they remind me of Cadbury mini eggs.

I stopped into Publix the other day to get some specialty needs. They had these cute flowers up front. I usually don’t love artificially dyed flowers but these are cute!

We met friends for sushi lunch Thursday and of course I had to pop next door for boba, I’m slightly addicted.

I had a dermatologist appointment earlier this week for a skin check. Make sure you get your skin checked regularly especially if you have ever been sunburned or have a family history of skin cancer.

Southern Living posted a deviled egg article in relation to Easter and it made me crave them. So I had these one night while Ryan was working late.

Grateful this week for sushi with friends, seeing a friend at the hospital who I thought no longer lived here turns out we surprised each other, and an after lunch walk with Ryan today.

Happy Easter. I hope you’re able to spend some time with people you love this weekend.

Happy Weekend!

Phew it’s been a busy few weeks around here. But a good busy and in the middle of the busy Ryan and I both had have some very lingering cold/sinus infection/crud something.

Mid March Em and I went to the zoo with our friends. It brought back so many memories or living near by when she was a baby.

I made a large pot of soup and froze some. It was so nice to have it when we were sick.

I’ve grown some basil in my Aerogarden. Hoping to collect enough for some pesto. Soon I will start my outside garden. Hopefully the last freeze is this weekend. Of course we will also have access to the new place soon so I figure I might as well wait and start my garden there.

Most recently I had my niece for her first ever Camp Tate while her parents (and Graeme) enjoyed a much deserved vacation. Em had Spring Break for part of Ms time here so we had a joint Camp Tate.

We had game night with friends, a picnic, some walks, trips to the park (the pollen levels did limit our time outside, Tate can’t handle the pollen from the Oak Trees- unofficial diagnosis from playing with the tassel pods when I was little then my eyes swelling shut), trying lots of new foods, practicing crawling, visits to see Bryant Denny, lunch with Tate’s friend and her family, Facetimes with mama and daldal, many snuggles, looks around Tatie’s garden, watching the hummingbirds, looking at new rental houses for Uncle Ry and Tate, dancing, hanging with Funcle Teddy, practicing standing, giggling with Em, and more snuggles.

Flowers from TJs with added herb greenery from my aerogarden.

Tate did some Easter nails.

My sissy got me a Stoney Clover x Target pouch and a pretty necklace or bracelet from Hawaii.

This little beauty has visited my hummingbird feeder. I never had a ruby throated visitor in SC. They bring me so much joy and remind me of watching the feeder outside Granny and Papa’s dining room when I was little. I’m hoping I can get some more pics.

Tucked my little plants in for the cool weekend.

Happy Weekend!

Happy Weekend!

Trying some new nail strips. So far I love them.

Daffodils are my favorite especially in this blue vase.

We had game night this week with friends. We had a taco bar with homemade guac and salsa. Caramel bars for dessert.

Ryan and I played a game one afternoon and I won!!

Finished this book in about two days. It was so good. I loved it!

Grateful this week for walks in the sunshine, fresh spring flowers, and homemade salsa.

Happy weekend! Enjoy something fun this weekend.

Fabulous Friday 2022, IX & X

Happy Weekend! Last week got away from me so a two for one today.

Last (last) weekend we had a getaway to Virginia Beach for some whale watching. Now it was a fun trip but I recommend skipping VA Beach and heading to Monterey Bay for whale watching. One day our whale watching tour was canceled so we headed to Yorktown battlefield and Jamestown.

Sketched out March earlier last week. I made a meal plan for March. We definitely won’t stick to 100% but it’s nice to have a plan.

Nails for a few days.

Got my two favorite girlies matching jammies and Tate a pair too. Camp Tate coming soon!

We had a fun game night with our R friends! Game night cookies from The Nostalgic Crumb.

Ryan and I got in a river walk one day this week between our work days.

I took this cutie to the orthodontist this week. While waiting I worked on a craft. We grabbed dinner of her choice, CFA. She loves her SunJoy. Tate can sympathize with braces for sure.

Grateful this week for an after work dinner with brother, heat/air/heat/air 😂, and a great friend that listens and encourages me in the middle of the muck.

Happy Weekend!

Mermaid nails!

Butterfly clips are back! I love seeing things circle around especially for my generations little girls. But I don’t remember them being available at Target but of course we didn’t have Target. Maybe Claire’s had them but it was definitely a speciality store.

Also on the nostalgia front, Igloo did a collaboration with Care Bears. I feel like I was born on the tail end of Care Bears but do love them so much.

I dropped Ryan at work one day and then hit a CFA breakfast treat. It was early enough for no line.

I love seeing the daffodils push up throughout the lands. They are one of my favorite flowers because they are pretty but also in the midst of the cold, grey and barren lands they push through and blossom with their sunny colored selves.

My heart, like many hearts, has been so heavy this week. With political attacks on trans kids families in TX and the war in Ukraine there is so much human suffering. I find it hard to balance trying to live my life to the fullest yet not seeming oblivious or cold hearted. It’s hard to balance mental health and staying informed. It’s hard to know how to help and truly make a difference when “thoughts and prayers” seem so petty and lifeless. Thoughts and prayers are like a good start but should not be the end game or the only action. It’s simply not enough when nurses are having to manually give intubated NICU babies breaths in a make shift bomb shelter. And civilian homes are being targeted. I know human suffering has existed for ages and will continue to exist as long as humans are living. But it hits a bit harder no matter how I try to regulate my empath self. So sending love to everyone because we need each other now more than ever. Aiming to still fight for the goodness worldwide and within my own heart and soul.

This week I’m grateful for adventures, mermaid nails, and naps.

Happy weekend. Stay soft and strong and well.

Fabulous Friday 2022, VII

The past two days definitely have already felt like the weekend.

Last Friday night we had dinner with Amy and her family. I think we converted them to Ticket to Ride players.

I watched this lovie play basketball last Saturday. It was good to spend a few hours with her.

My cousin sent me this sweatshirt got Valentines and it’s perfect!

I thought one of my olive trees was dead but I’ve nursed it back to health. It’s almost like it was stunned during the move.

We had Ryan’s family in town visiting this week. Last weekend Ryan’s friend’s family visited while passing through. So lots of fun visits sprinkled in with work schedules.

We did some exploring of local lake areas with Ryan’s family.

I’m jumping back into the swing of things for work. Mainly it’s getting stuff ready for lunches and dinners since it takes awhile to get to work and to get home.

I made some lasagna pesto roll ups to have on hand for the weekend. They are tasty and pretty! I definitely have doubled the pesto both times I’ve made these.

I’ve been grateful for my sound machine, medicines to help our bodies when they need it, and Reese’s eggs snack sized of course, it’s the perfect pb to chocolate ratio and best served cold.

Happy Weekend!
