Fabulous Friday, XIII

Well this month has flown by. In a rush of celebrations, work and beaches.

Loved partying up 31 with these loves.

We spent sometime at my favorite place on earth. This mermaid’s heart belongs here. The time wasn’t quite long or peaceful enough. I already want to go back.

New hairs! I still kept my purple and teal but went back darker with a splash of blonde. Loving it. But wish my hair would grow longer. Of course it is as long as it has ever been.

I have been playing with Beautycounter’s new blush, highlighters, bronzers and eye shadows. It’s so fun to play with different colors. If you want to come try them out let me know.

I made this new recipe from Just Jessie B. It was delightful and made great breakfast leftovers.

Hung out with this girlie this week. I was taking a bath and opened the door to find her waiting here on the other side. So sweet and yet so smothering. I know I’ll miss these days.

Watching my little lemon tree grow. Fingers crossed I don’t kill it!

Happy Weekend Friends! I hope you enjoy. I can’t believe how long this week even today has been. I hope your weekend is filled with the things Summer dreams are made of. Planning some market time and relaxation around here. Oh yeah, some cleaning and stalking the mail for my Nordie sale packages.

xoxo

Happy Friday! I am extra excited about this Friday because we are actually off work and it is my birthday weekend.

Em and I spent the last week-ish at the beach. Then it was right back to work for me.

img_3605

Ryan and I worked July 4th but celebrated with Tare and Teddy after work. We ate and watched thunder on the mountain. Thanks for making us dinner!

You all know how I feel about charcuterie and cheese boards. What’s Gaby Cooking has a few beautiful ones including this summer board.

My birthday has me thinking all things cute party. I love this mermaid tail party hat.

Mini flamingo pinata. How cute!

It’s no secret I love Hint waters. I hear the smash ups might be coming back.

Phew what a week! And I can’t even claim it is almost over since I work the weekend.

Basically no life updates just been adding money to the bank account. Well I’ve actually ordered a few swim suits for the upcoming beach time.

My flowers are growing and the fireflies are out in full force. I love them.

I did acquire some mermaid hair this week. I love it!

I am on Whole30 Day 19 today! I am researching some recipes to try to make this weekend.

I am going to try this Power Bowl. I have never roasted kale. Side note unsure if I have ever eaten kale. I just do not know what to do with it besides add it to a smoothie.

These chicken veggie poppers caught my eye because they looked like sausage balls. Ha! but they seem like they might freeze and reheat well.

These potato toast are also at the top off my weekend prep list.

It’s finally Friday! Although we both work some of the weekend so it doesn’t much feel like a Friday.

Last weekend, I spent a lovely morning at Pepper Place before along afternoon nap thanks to Whole30 exhaustion. We had a lovely dinner with friends visiting from Tuscaloosa. Ryan grilled chicken and all the veggies.

Sunday we had Em’s birthday party. I managed to decorate the cake and attend the party with no icing taste.

Two owls were hanging around our yard last weekend. This picture is us standing on our porch taking photos.

Monday and Tuesday were full of work.

Wednesday I had a severe attitude problem and was not in a good mind space but thanks to a convo with a friend then some good baby snuggles and a meeting with my Whole30 coach I was on the up and up.

Thursday I visited Em and my family down in Prattville. That girl brings the sunshine to my days. I  managed a Whole30 meal out again. Mexican fajita salad no cheese, onions or shell. Add avocado and salsa. Major thinks to the waiter who brought me basically an entire avocado to put on my salad.

31×31 Afternoon Tea

img_1354Have tea somewhere fancy is on my 31×31 list. During our recent Disney World trip we did just that.

img_1388

We skipped the parks on Saturday to give Ryan’s foot, our wallet and the crowds a rest. So we scheduled afternoon tea t Disney’s Grand Floridian. We had an earlier afternoon reservation so we slept in, ate a pastry from Epcot and skipped lunch.

We arrived a few minutes early and marveled at the lobby while we waited.

We both ordered the Bedfordshire Tea with sandwiches, scone, jam tart and assorted pastries or trifle. We got one of the pastries and one trifle.  Ryan ordered a rose infused tea which I did not love (he didn’t either but tea is not his thing.) I ordered a traditional tea which was good.

I am glad we had this experience but I probably wont do it again. Afternoon tea is one of my favorite things to do. I would rather have an experience else where for the money and quality of food. To me there was nothing Disney magic about this, that you couldn’t find at any nicer hotel with an Afternoon Tea offering. I will say the party next to us had some food allergies and I was very impressed with the accommodations they received.  For reference I have had afternoon tea in Bath, England in high school, The Peabody in Memphis in the past few years and on various Princess cruises which is actually one of my favorites and something I look forward to everyday.

Goals Update: May/June 2018

HELLO, June! Never have I been more excited for a new month, clean slate and fresh start. I have no idea what happened in May. I feel like it lasted forever in a way but was also completely gone in a flash. I felt like I got nothing accomplished. And for the most part that is completely true. But it was nice to look at my powersheets to be reminded of what I have accomplished. It was not much but I need to remember not to discredit what did get done even if most of my list did not get done.

I continued to schedule in time for things in my planner. It did not work well for May, well I did not work well. I might be late to this game because is this not what the Cultivate team teaches us…Schedule time for what you want to happen to happen. So this month I took my Simplified Planner and penciled in things I want to accomplish in June.

Happy June 1st! I can not believe we are moving into our sixth month of 2018. Check back tomorrow for my goals update post. We are about 100 days from our fifth year anniversary. Time flies when you are having fun.

img_2665

This past weekend Ryan and I spent some relaxing time in Fort Payne and Chattanooga. We explored Rock City and some bakeries around Chattanooga. We visited the waterfalls surrounding Fort Payne. With all the rain Birmingham had lately, I was disappointed with the water flow of both. We ate at many of our favorites. We stayed with friends and had a picnic on Sunday before we headed out of town.

img_2684

Monday I started Whole30! I also am doing Annie F Downs #100daystobravesummer. It began 5/28 and ends 9/24 which is how I know we are about 100 days out from our anniversary. I am hoping to use this as motivation and a reminder to stay on top of my game until then.

img_2764

I was excited to get started with Whole30. I also am utilizing a Whole30 coach this time. I will update on how that goes. We met Tuesday to walk through the grocery store together.

img_2746

Wednesday I attended The Brunch Series Tour with Danika Brysha. OMGEEEE if you do not follow her you should. It was a fabulous day learning so much with some beautiful, inspiring ladies. Life changing literally, so if the tour is coming to a city near you then go.

img_2761

Thursday Ryan and I had a day off. We just hung out at home. Tried to get a few groceries but I felt like it was the day of failure. Nothing went quite right. Publix didn’t have some Whole30 items I was looking for and the Whole Foods which we don’t frequent often because you know the major competition to Amazon puts the money in our bank account. I will say it was a frustrating trip as all the bacon and ketchup/dressing seemed to be messed up. Like the cooler was empty. Luckily we found some bacon to top my loaded burger salad.

Happy Friday, Lovies!

Fabulous Friday, VII

I am a week late with this but last week was stuffed full of family time and celebrating many people. So I put this off to be present in the moment.

img_2122Smores for breakfast. I spent Saturday morning at Pepperplace before Ryan and I had a lunch out and grabbed some groceries.

img_2223We celebrated Mother’s Day by grilling shrimp, chicken, and brussels. Of course we had a cheese plate as well.

Thursday I picked the birthday girl from school. We celebrated by playing at the park before the rain sent us to Chick-Fil-A for a snack and some indoor play time.

img_2247My hydrangeas are blooming and beautiful. All of these blooms are on the same plant.

img_2267This week has been dragging on. Maybe its working more or looking forward to the long weekend. I have been living on BTLs and the first harvest of summer fruits and tomatoes. So yummy!

img_2405

I spent last Friday with Em at her end of school celebrations. I can not believe she is a third grader! She received an award for most improved reader and earned a water balloon to throw at the math teacher.

We also celebrated Teddy’s birthday with a dinner at Fancy’s. We also had birthday cake and breakup cookies for the two birthday loves.

img_2432

Insert work work. We did have a tea party at work to celebrate Harry and Meghan

We celebrated Ryan’s birthday just the way he wanted to. Mexican for lunch. Researched our upcoming 5th anniversary trip. Watched The Last Jedi. Had hot sandwiches and brownies for dinner.

Insert more work work work.

I finished the latest season of Jane the Virgin this week. OMGeeee. So good. I know its corny and DRAMA but it is a fun escape.

Phew we made it to the weekend!!!! What are your long weekend plans? I plan to jump off social media for a heart recharge. Any good books I should read?

img_2446

I am starting Whole30 on Monday. I am so excited and nervous. This will be my second round. I have had a few failed attempted between now and my first, but I am fulling committing to this one! What are your favorite Whole30 tips and tricks?
