Fabulous Friday 2019, I

Happy Friday!

We watched some football this past weekend. Roll Tide! And did some packing of course.

This week has flown by. We didn’t do much besides work on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Our fabulous neighbor did hook us up with the greens, ham, black eyed peas and corn bread.

We packed the rest of the week. I can’t believe it is time for Ryan to move. We have done some major De-cluttering but so much more to go.

Today has been extra hard. Tomorrow we set off on the real steps of our grand adventure and I am feeling all the feels. Here is my life tip for you. Create a treasure box and fill it will things good and true. Things to remind they light in your soul to burn brighter. Shark, I’m going to need a bigger treasure box please. I hope, wish and pray that when you do have that treasure box you are able to fill it. I pray that it is filled with words, memories and mementos that bring big sloppy heart warming gratitude of tears sliding down your face when you need them the most. Thanks to those of you that have filled my treasure box. I also hope your treasure box still somehow smells like your most magical place on Earth. And then comes the gentle heart reminder that’s it that’s the place we are moving too. Sure there will be bills to pay, jobs to attend and life won’t be bustling with the people we love right there in arms distance but the magic and love is there just the same.

Please continue to pray for our move and me a new job. The lead I thought I had turned out now to come to be. It’s got me feeling and extra special dose of anxious.

I attended a hot yoga class this week and I did not die, so that is my celebration for the week. 😂

Saw this on Insta unknown where it originally came from. But how true!!!

Have a wonderful weekend! ❤️

Lovies.

Fabulous Friday, XXVII

Happy last Friday of 2018! I hope your holiday season has been bright and light. We have been busy bees since Disney. This past week we celebrated all the Christmas.

We went to Six Flags with the Stalkers and had Christmas Brunch the next morning. Ryan got a few new board games for Christmas. We played one that afternoon.

Ryan and I stopped by Callaway Gardens for Fantasy in Lights on our way to Christmas in Flatwoods.

Christmas Eve we attended Highlands Christmas which was spectacular as usual. You can check out some awesome song on their Facebook and Instagram.

We had Christmas Breakfast before I went to work to save some eyeballs. I made my version of my Papa’s breakfast casserole. I also made homemade cinnamon rolls for the first time and knocked it out of the park if I do say so myself. I would like to make it a tradition or routine so to say to make them one lazy breakfast a month. I am already wanting the gingerbread version again even though its technically past Christmas. I might make them this weekend though since I already have an open jar of molasses.

I felt like I swept and mopped and washed ten thousand dishes. But would it be Christmas without feeling that way. The rest of the week brought work-work and work at home. I already packed up our Christmas decorations, a record for me. This move and the packing to do list has me so anxious I went ahead and got started. I also worked on our New Year’s card so look for them in a mailbox near you.

If you would like to pray for us we would love prayers in general. But if you re looking for specific prayers PACKING the house, gracious this is overwhelming to me. A smooth move. A flexible job for me not necessarily nursing but something that really allows for space and time of people and things I love. I have a lead and my heart is bursting with excitement over it but it’s a very tiny lead and an idea in my heart right now. Selling our house with profit because Samford student loans yo. New friends and old ones to continue to stick. Ryan a smooth job transition. Em to adjust and flourish. 😍

This weekend will bring more packing, football and hopefully some pockets of rest.

Wishing you a restful yet productive weekend and a beautiful end to 2018!

Lovies.

Fabulous Friday, XXVI

Happy Winter Solstice! I can not believe Christmas is here essentially and the year is almost over!

This past week I spent some time with a friend shopping and getting baby snuggles. I bought this sparkly wallet for 70% off. Bonus because it fits my phone.

I had to work part of the weekend but Sunday I spent elf-ing around trying to get ready for Christmas and tidy the house.

As many of you already saw we will be moving to Beaufort, SC in the new year. We are sad to leave family and friends but excited about a new adventure. We may stay for anywhere between just one year and forever. We found a place to rent at the beginning of the week.

Wednesday and Thursday brought work with more elf-ing.

I ha e felt a bit sick the end of this week. Ryan has been sick no doubt something we picked up from the most magical petri dish on Earth.

We are beginning our Christmas celebrations this weekend. I can not believe it’s here.

Got presents!?! All ready to make the rounds.

This is a mindfulness mark a visual reminder to remind me to be fully present this season. To accept what life brings this season. Enjoy. Learn. Grow. And not to set my expectations of myself or others too high. You can grab yourself a Lumen Kind temporary tattoo or use any piece of jewelry or other visual reminder.

Fabulous Friday, XXV

We spent the past week in Disney! Oh what fun.

We visited Hollywood Studios on Saturday. Our friends joined us for Epcot on Sunday. Monday we played in the Magic Kingdom. Tuesday we partied with Mickey and friends at the Christmas party. Wednesday we went to Sea World for the first time.

Thursday we flew home exhausted and with full hearts. Look for a post on our trip soon. Back to the real world now.

Here are a few of my favorite Disney shops.

I picked Em up on Friday. We played, watched Christmas movies, had fried rice for dinner and went to take pictures with Santa.

Saturday we to a rainy Pepper Place. There were not too many vendors there so we grabbed Em’s favorite chicken minis for breakfast. We played a little before meeting her daddy. I ran some errands then game time. Holy Moly. What a Cinderella story. I don’t care who you are Jalen Hurts, a class act.

My Mama came by Sunday, we hit up the Summit. Ran some errands. Picked up my Christmas present. Lilly P accidentally sent the confirmation email to me instead of my mom so I already knew what it was. We made Butter Bear bath bombs at Lush. We also saw our friends at the Birmingham Candy. I got some cotton candy and other goodies.

Monday I helped the lovely Danika Brysha with her virtual Brunch series.

This week also brought new hair color and new nails.

A little work mixed with a little Christmas elving.

I am all ready for Christmas cards. Expect ours to be a little late.

Our little elves are playing in our clothes. They must want to be a Disney unicorn mermaid princess too.

I do not love fake trees but vintage looking tinsel trees I do love.

I want to try this Reindeer food (aka puppy chow/muddy buddies).

I have post all three parts of our Greece trip. Please give them a glance if you have not. Athens, Santorini, and Crete.IMG_20181202_124102

It’s the 25 days of love for #rileykateslovies. If you want to do an act of love in memory of Riley Kate please do no matter how big or small. I can mail you a card if you want.

Happy Friday, Lovies!

I hope you are soaking up the Holiday Season. And if its less than happy thoughts this time of year, I hope you are giving yourself self love, grace and kindness.

Fabulous Friday, XXIII

Time is flying! How is November almost over?!?

IMG_20181124_092015.jpg

This past weekend I grabbed some goodies at Pepper Place Market. We snuggled in at home watching football and the Iron Bowl.

IMG_20181124_215539

We took a late night trip to the movies to see The Nutcracker. It was beautiful and good. We tried out the renovated theater in Vestavia. Recliners with heated seats. We wont pay that money for every movie because we are cheap and wait til most movies come to the dollar theater. But any movies we do see brand new we will see there.

I am gearing up for the 25 days of acts of love or #rileykateslovies in celebration of our sweet baby. If you would like to do an act of love in her honor let me know and I can get a card in the mail to you. Last year we asked everyone that would have bought her a Christmas gift to do an act of love no matter how small in her honor and then tell us so we could experience her light and love in the world. It was such a healing blessing and you can expect us to continue this all of our days.

I blogged about our visit to Santorini in October.

I grabbed this OPI Nutcracker nail polish advent calendar! I can’t wait to countdown with nail polish.

The cold weather and hand washing has my skin so dry. I have this Baby Balm (not just for babies) in my purse at all times now.

You know how much I love a good party, celebrations, and traditions. I bought the Cultivate What Matters Celebration Binder during Black Friday and I can not wait to dive in.

I decked what was left if the halls this week. All the pastels and pinks inspired by vintage Christmas and our sweet baby.

Fabulous Friday, XXI

Last weekend, Ryan and I cheered on the Tide. I worked for a few hours. I continued to work on making over the new secretary desk. And we pulled out the Christmas decorations since I had gallbladder surgery Monday I won’t be picking up heavy things for a while.

I spent the week relaxing and recovering from surgery. Unfortunately I think I got the Davis anesthesia nausea gene. Ryan took off again Tuesday to stay home with me. I think me crying when he walked into recovery sealed the deal on that.

The rest of the week was spent napping and maybe some slight Christmas decorating.

Our wonderful neighbor brought us poppyseed chicken casserole. I have been eating it and my Edible Arrangements from my in laws all week.

There was a dusting of snow in Alabama on Thursday morning. I’m glad it wasn’t more. I don’t like southern icy snow. I didn’t realize how cold it was going to get so hopefully my plants revive themselves.

I treated myself to a blow out and some curls today. The thought of washing and drying my own hair seemed like a little much with abdominal cuts. Who am I kidding it feels like a little much when I am in perfect health. Im still loving my fairy hair.

Mumford and Sons new album Delta dropped today.

Needtobreathe also released their acoustic album today.

They both have tours coming up in the spring and I was lucky enough to grab both.

I have a to read list a mile long but I’m adding Becoming to it!

I am looking forward to a weekend of Pepper place, football and maybe some Christmas shenanigans.

Happy Weekend, lovies!

Fabulous Friday XX

It’s been a week or two really, phew.

Last Thursday night I visited the ER for severe abdominal pain. My gallbladder will be removed soon. I’m so bummed about having surgery and scars. I know I’m a nurse it’s ridiculous for me to feel this way but I do.

IMG_20181103_183938

I ran to Pepper Place Saturday morning and grabbed all the goodies for the LSU game.

Sunday I visited one of my friends in North Alabama for her birthday. We had such a good time catching up and having dinner. Of course the time was too short.

IMG_20181109_080225_000.jpg

We have a sweet new love in our life to snuggle. Thanks to all my friends for all the babies to love.

This week I also met with the group, Dialogue to discuss navigating grief during the holidays. I am so thankful for this group of women. We meet one Wednesday a month. If you are interested in joining us please do not hesitate to reach out.

IMG_20181105_190601.jpg

I started to makeover this beauty and I can’t wait to see it finished.

I’m currently devouring Into the Wilderness such a good book.

I haven’t seen The Nutcracker or Outlander yet. I’m saving those for when I’m resting after surgery.

I also have started doing some Christmas shopping so if you are on my list and have something you want, let me know asap.

Fabulous Friday, XVII

Happy Weekend, friends! It’s finally Friday.  This week has been full of both parts work and fun. I am fully exhausted today so here is to a good, restful night of sleep before the probably no so restful weekend.

This past weekend I spent the morning at Pepperplace. We joined some friends for board games Saturday night. Ryan some how won the three games we played.

image1.jpeg

I took an aerial yoga class Sunday and Thursday night. Thursday was fun because I did some moves I had never done before like flipping into the hammock as well as some fancy leg and feet work to change positions. BUT I need some meds, a heating pad and Epsom salt bath now.

I was on call at work one day so I readied my toesies for football season. Crimson and white jersey boys I am ready for you. As well as grabbed a cheese plate dinner.

All the anniversary trip research has me craving the food already.

Screenshot_20180824-142358.png

As everyone knows I am on the constant quest for self improvement as well as self discovery. 2017 broke me and it will never be worth it but I am thankful for this entire journey to being myself. This recent research comes as a surprise to no one. Why did I even take the test. Ha! I am excited to read further into how this effects my habit formations etc.

I finally found (I think) a podcast app for my new phone. I have been listening to this lately, A Little Salty Podcast.

I do not love the idea of a backpack labeling me as a tourist with just once glance, but who am I kidding luggage in general labels you. I think I found a new go to for abroad trips. Don’t get me wrong I have been a long time carry on only packer but carrying a rolling suitcase over cobblestones or upstairs is no fun. I can not wait ti give a full review of Tortuga backpacks once I use it on our next trip.

College Football starts tomorrow.

Fabulous Friday, XVI

Well it’s the weekend again. Whoo! I worked last weekend so I’m more excited for this weekend.

A long work week made this week seem long and short all at the same time.

Ryan grilled some shrimp and chicken Monday night. We used the left overs for tacos and nachos the next night.

Adli find!!! What?!? I need to go back and look for more. The expiration date is far out so I need some more.

Insert all the work. I even got in an hour or two of OT.

We found a few things on a side of town we hardly ever go.

Chronic Tacos. Not great. I don’t think we would go again. There’s too many amazing places to eat to go mediocre.

Bubble Tea! I love bubble tea I’ll be back and next time add two kinds of bubbles unsure why I didn’t this time.

If you are traveling to a historical place on vacation, I can’t recommend the value of a tour guide enough. In Italy someone recommended to us a guide. I’m so glad we had one. We picked and chose were we wanted to go. He was invaluable for The Vatican. He had us weaving through crowds and helped point out the most important things. We have one booked for parts of Athens. We had the Viator website recommended to us. Here you can filter through personal guides by date, lauguages spoken and read about them. It is not as expensive as you would imagine or at least I thought. For example we have a guide in Athens for just us for six hours. Plan on going to the Acropolis and two main museums for around 180 euro. Not bad if you ask me and you really get to dive deep into the culture and history.

14 sleeps til COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!!! Ahhh! The SEC Network has been on a TV in the lobby at work with football on repeat. I am so ready. Having lunch out today this was on and it made me so nervous (even though I know how it ends)/excited/ready!!!

I had heard how great The Greatest Showman was. I was afraid it would be a let down since the hype was so intense. It was not a let down. Holy smokes I think I’ll be buying this. I already downloaded the sound track and a ringtone.

A friend recommended the Netflix movie, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, also so good. It is also a book which is added to my to read list.

Happy weekend! Enjoy the rain!
