Fabulous Friday, XXV

Happy Friday! We had a fun week. Em and I traveled back to BHM and then back to SC. We got to visit with family and friends.

Of course I stopped by Pepper Place.

I got a smore from Wayne and Cassie at the Birmingham Candy Co. It was amazing! Swing by the Pizitz for their Summer of Smores on Saturdays.

We had a jam packed week. Monday we did the Moonlight lighthouse climb. It was so cool for a different perspective. After only a few tears Em embraced it. On Thursday she climbed with no tears. Yay for being courageous. We also were able to go up into the light room.Tuesday we had turtle day. We were in some filmed footage for the Hunting Island Visitor Center renovations.

I am now managing the Friends of Hunting Island Instagram page. If you are on Instagram give us a follow. We got some fairy hair for summer.

Did some Disney craft projects. Mickey and Minnie’s Birthday celebration outfits was my inspiration. Its no secret that I love Allbirds. I think I might need these Tide Pool colored wool runners for our upcoming trip.

We played in tbe garden and sprinkler. As well as finally a pool trip that lasted longer than five minutes before the thunder came.

I was fortunate enough to spend most of Tuesday night on the beach watching turtles. We saw two mamas. This pictures were taken with just the moon as light.

Please remember to be respectful of sea turtles and never approach a nesting mama unless you are on a guided walk with professionals.I have been listening to the That Sounds Fun Podcast by Annie F Downs. She is one of my favorites and she is doing a EnnaeaSummer special. The Enneagram is also one of my favorite things. I definitely want to do a deep dive blog post on this soon. BUT for now, the Enneagram for those that dont know, is a personality typing system. There are nine numbers. Each with strengths and weaknesses. As with any thing use it for a resource and guide not a “gospel” so to say. Do not let it box you in or define you. But I personally have learned alot about myself. It has even helped me discover some things I can easily see as hard or negative are good and true of me.

ALL that to say if you know and love me and want to know more about my inner workings. Take a listen to the episode from That Sounds Fun on Enneagram six. For a brief but information overview listen to the first ten minutes or so. For a complete deep dive listen to the entire episode and the first ten minute overview of Five as well. I am a six wing five. Again deep dive coming soon.

Happy Weekend! Enjoy.

We finally live together again. Whoooo! It was a long road but worth it.

Ryan got me a funny card and some chocolate for Mother’s Day.

Fanny packs are back everywhere and I’m not sure how I feel about them. But so are small backpacks for purses and I’m here for that.

Vineyard Vines for Target launches tomorrow.

These Lowcountry sunsets are well nothing short of magic.

I went for a waterfront walk and picnic dinner one night and this dolphin was close enough for me to hear it breathe for about a minute. Gosh. Just pinch me.

Love this weekend’s Color Street nails. You can order from my friend Lauren or Keri.

Seaturtle.org reports 973 events total. Hunting Island has 9 nest! Grow babies grow!

Happy Weekend! I hope you all had a week filled with love, significant other or not you yourself are significant.

It’s been a week and then some. People that flip house for a living, golly. I can not imagine. House stuff has been insane. I can’t even recall it all here because I will just feel like a broken record, debbiedowner, and I can’t tell you how many times this week I have thought what have a done to deserve for things to always go terribly wrong? For. The. Love. Obviously something is wrong with me. Just when I think so many bad things have happened something positive needs to. And I don’t mean little positive. I mean life altering positive.

On that note I have been a terrible friend this week. I apologise. There is so much going on I can barely keep up and my body physically hurts. No excuse but. I am sorry.

There has been some forward progress on the house although it does not feel like it. Most of this wall was a gapping hole but it finished out ok. Our plan had always been build a cabinet to go over it, with no back basically and holes in the bottom for the water line.

I got Beautycounter’s new brow gel and I am in love.

I fished three books this week. I have become one of those people that reads multiple books. I used to have to finish one before I started a new one. Becoming by Michelle Obama. It was great. I listened to the audiobook read by the former First Lady. Love You Smore by Beth Merlin. It’s the third in a series. Cute, romantic, super easy read. Queen of Swords by Sara Donati. The fifth book in The Wilderness Series. I so listened to this while painting. I only have one book left in the series.

I have new fairy hair and Emily did some fun color on me that I love.

Fabulous Friday 2019, IV

What a productive week it has been. Thankfully!!

I went to Pepper Place indoor Winter market last Saturday.

Ryan’s parents came over to help me pack and paint. What a wonderful big help they were. They painted the two of guest bedrooms and the guest bathroom!

I worked alot this week but only a little bit for actual money.

We ate some yummy food. Ethiopian twice and Mississippi Delta Hot Tamales.

Ryan and I got the UHaul to Beaufort yesterday. We unloaded a little today and our excitedly awaiting more family.

Did I buy these because the had Mickey on them yes I did. I haven’t tried them yet but Teddy has.

I tried watching Marvelous Mrs. Maisel earlier but didn’t love the pilot. But after hearing people rave I tried again and I am hooked.

Happy Weekend, Lovies!

Fabulous Friday 2019, III

Finally Friday! I was extra looking forward to Friday because I have my Dr appointment to see about this stomach pain. So ready for some answers so we can fix the pain.

This week has been survival mode. Survive the pain, work and make it til the weekend. Just praying for answers and reduced pain.

I have been able to get a bit of packing done but not a ton. During my breaks I have watched Marie Kondo in hopes of feeling inspired. I have just tried to embrace the chaos.

I have been looking for a cheap unlined sherpa and think I found one. Any other suggestions?

Beautycounter launched Counterman this week, which has been three years in the making. They are working to bring safer products into the hands of everyone. And everyone means everyone.

Pepper Place indoor market starts this weekend and I can not wait!

This is a a to be filmed in Fairhope. This is about this sister if one of my fellow Capstone College of Nursing graduates.

I am not going to lie it’s been a week that is hard to find a celebration. I guess my proudest thing is I took time for myself to get a massage, go to the dr and asking for help because I needed it. Which asking for help is something I do not like to do. I’ve been taking lots of warm baths.

A New Adventure

Phew! I can’t believe this is real. I am terrified and excited. Sad and happy. We are embarking on a new adventure. In 2019, we will be moving to Beaufort, SC. For those of you that do not know it is about half way in between Savannah and Charleston. It is where my beloved Hunting Island is. It was voted Southern Living’s Best Small Town in 2017.

I grew up going to the area as my maternal grand parents had a beach house on Hunting Island. Ryan and I have continued to visit the area and he loves the area as much as me, maybe. He is much better equipped for the move since he has lived all over.

This is a huge adjustment as it will be the furthest I have ever lived from my family and outside of the state of Alabama for longer than a summer at camp Aunt Amy. Oh, and there is that blue eyed blonde headed girl that I can not even think about her and moving without nearly vomiting, so needless to say Birmingham you will still be seeing a lot of me back and forth. Luckily, it has been instilled in me that when it comes to love the miles don’t matter.

We are going to place our home in Birmingham on the market to sell. We will rent in Beaufort just to get a lay of the land and make sure living at the beach feels right and good. Because vacationing at the beach and living at the beach are two very different things.

This has been a huge decision and I have gone back and forth on and made myself physically sick over but essentially it boils down to not wanting to wonder what if. Every desicion in my life  have thought but what bout Em? What about Ry?  What about my mom? What about my dad? What about Teddy and Tare? And I feel like for maybe one of the few in my life I said BUT what about Anna Kate?

At the beginning of November I quit my job in the NICU for various, different reasons. But that seemed to be the knock on the door that threw open all the other doors. Ryan and I have talked about moving there but hadn’t because of said blonde headed girl. But he got a call out of the blue from Wal-Mart asking if he was still interested in a job there and well everything slide into place rather easily.

The doors just seemed to fly open so we are giving it a go. Luckily, like most things in life a move is not irreversible. Granted a pain in the butt but not something we are committing to for forever. We will see where the tide and salty breeze takes us over the next few years.

I cycle back and forth between I am excited and OMG I am going to puke. I’m constantly reminding myself on the other side of terrified is growth and magic. I constantly wonder if I am actually brave enough to do this because change is hard. But so are the rewards.

Please pray and send us love and good vibes for a smooth transition, a good profit on our house, a smooth transition for those we love, blessings of new friends, a new flexible job for me and transportation to and from the people we love.

Thanks to everyone for their love and support. Here is to new adventures, many house guests, sandy feet, shrimp, Lowcontry magic and a changing of the tides.

Fabulous Friday XIX

Hello long lost blog friends. It’s been awhile. We spend the end of September and beginning of October in Greece. We are just now really getting back into the swing of routine life.

We spent last weekend with this crazy girl. Football, pizza, baby dolls, the zoo, yum yum sauce.

The lovely squirrels have a full bucket of acorns we have removed from the grass but decided to dig up my pansies. Ryan thought they might be trying to store acorns for the winter.

Ryan and I attended The Struts on Sunday night. Such a fun concert. The energy was electric. I played with the new Beautycounter Holiday collection makeup.

I had a hair refresh and love it!

Cultivate What Matters launched the 2019 Powersheets this week.

This Mermaid Body Oil is on my Christmas list. I have some a love it.

I made pumpkin spice granola this week. It is lovely. I added a little extra spice. My only complaint is that I wish I was more clumpy. I ate it with a dash of milk or Greek yogurt or both.

Happy weekend lovies!

Fabulous Friday, XIV

Happy Weekend! After what seems like the longest week ever we made it.

I worked this week. Rested. Battled some extreme exhaustion accompanying some extreme feelings. Got a new phone. Did some travel research.

This beauty showed up this week. It actually took my breath away the first time I saw it. It also reminded me that beautiful things grow through the darkness with the proper love, nourishment and care.

In case you didn’t know Lisa Frank has Snapchat filters you can save through tomorrow. I don’t use Snapchat but I can use them in Insta.

Happy August first and new planner start day!

Ryan bought be these beautiful flowers this week.

I have been looking for a good travel water bottle and I think I might try this Que one. After the Miliano water bottle ordeal I don’t take metal or glass over seas.

I have done a few Pilates sessions this week. The Balanced Life is a great resource.

I am on the hunt for a good travel bra. One that can go hiking to dinner. I think I’m going to try this one from Title Nine.

I hope your last days of summer are filled with sweet memories, pool days, ice cream and love.
