This past week I joined Beautycounter as a consultant. This is something completely out of my comfort zone (the selling of things I mean) but I thought I would give it a try.
Why Beautycounter you might ask? Well I love their products but even more so I love their mission, which is education and changing the beauty industry to be safer. You can read more about Beuatycounter’s story and mission on the website. You probably, like me, think about what you put into your body as far as foods go but do you think about what you put onto your body as well? The beauty/cosmetic industry is not regulated for safety of the ingredients that products can contain. In fact, the United States has only banned 30 harmful ingredients/chemicals while the European Union has banned over 1,300. Beautycounter’s Never List is a list of over 1,500 products that they do not use due to safety concerns. You can also check out the company’s certifications and associations.
I have been using Beautycounter products since March. I slowly began replacing things in my makeup bag as I ran out and would normally buy a replacement. All of my products not 100% converted to Beautycounter. I plan on it, but do not feel like you have to replace your entire makeup, skin care and body care right this second. That is overwhelming and expensive. Just start small with one or two products and slowly convert over as you cycling through the last of your old products.
You can purchase products directly through the website, at a social, or I can meet with you one on one. If you are local to Birmingham I can gladly get you some samples or even full sized products to try for a few days. We can set up a social for you to host. Do not be intimidated by the word social, I simply mean a get together with 3-5 of your close friends to sample and try products. You can earn free products and 50% off products. Low key, no pressure and fun. There are many different options such as Sip & Samples, Brunch and Beautycounter, Mimosas and Mask, Mommy and Me Playdates, and Girl’s Night Makeovers. We also have the option to do online Facebook parties in which I can mail samples to your out of town friends. Contact me if your interested. I would love to get something on my calendar. Local friends: I am also making a stellar all inclusive offer, I provide the clean house, drinks, snacks, Beautycounter products and knowledge. Slowly but surely I have been researching and investing in some cleaner beauty products. Here are some that I love.
Primally Pure Sensitive Deodorant. It works really. We spent some hot, sweaty days at the beach recently and it neutralized body odor. Em even did sniff checks for me and we all know how honest kids are. It is not an antiperspirant but I feel your body was designed to sweat for a reason so why stop it. I am a convert and will be using this clean version for the foreseeable future. Lavender and Tea Tree are my favorite scents.
Primally Pure Everything Spray. The website instructs you to spray it on as a facial toner, inflamed skin soother, prevention of ingrown hairs. I got this in the Starter Kit Bundle I ordered. I probably would not have ordered it on its own. I will be ordering the bigger bottle for myself. I used it this week on some chafing at the beach. It did soothe my skin and make it feel so much better. My only complaint is that it smells strongly of vinegar but it only last a few seconds.
Beautycounter’s Tint Skin Foundation. I wear the Linen shade. It is lightweight, just enough coverage. It reminds me more of a BB or CC cream in terms of heaviness rather than a regular foundation. The website states you can use different brushes to build coverage but honestly (cringe all the beauty experts) mostly I use my fingers.
Beautycounter’s Color Pinch Cream Blush. I think I have posted about this in another Loving Lately, but I love this! I wear the Caramel color. It goes on creamy and smooth. Its build-able and to me looks more natural than a powder blush.
Beautycounter’s Color Shade Eye Duo. I have NOT tried this product yet but it is next on my purchase list. I want a small eye shadow for my portable makeup bag. I am currently working on purchasing double of some of the essential products to put in a make up bag that can be thrown in my gym bag, work bag, or for a quick weekend away. I plan on getting the Shell/Malt color because it reminds me of Clinique Strawberry Fudge which I love.
W3ll People Bio Brightener Stick. I do wish they made this sticks thinner, in fact I think the used to. But they still contain clean and organic ingredients and go on smooth.

Nureveal Organics Young Coconut Scrub. Love this stuff. It is very moisturizing.

Thistle Farms Bath Soaks. I received this as a gift from my in laws for my birthday. They smell good but even better the company employees women overcoming human trafficking, addiction and prostitution in Nashville, TN. I love supporting local companies but even better local companies with a cause such as this.
The Barefoot Mermaid
