Places to Stay
Disney’s Resorts have unparalleled theming and service. One of my favorite things about some of the Disney Resorts is there smell. Yes you read that right for example the lobby of Disney’s Beach Club smells like the beach. No lie. If you have the money to afford to stay on property do it. We prefer to stay off property to be able to afford to go more. But for big special trips we will stay on property.
Art of Animation is Disney’s newest resort. We stayed here a few years ago. The themes running throughout the resort is fun.
Disney’s Polynesian is at the top of my wish list. It’s location is convenient to Magic Kingdom. I think it would be a great place to stay as a romantic get a way or with littles who need a mid afternoon nap.
We enjoy eating at different resorts. Especially, if you are ever in Orlando without park tickets you can get the Disney experience while you dine. We have not dined at too many resorts simply because it’s hard to justify leaving the parks then trying to get back to the park without wasting much time. But here are a few of our favorites. We need to start branching out more, but it is so hard to skip old favorites in favor of something new.
Ohana is my favorite dining place on Disney property. Well I have not eaten everywhere so that can not be a fair statement. But it is at the top of my list.
Pineapple Lanai is your go to spot for Dole Whip outside of the theme parks. The day we arrive we usually do not go to a park so we will get a good resort dining reservation and swing by for some Dole Whip.
Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge is another one of our favorites. We love to full bread service and mango lassi there.
1900 Park Fare is located at the Grand Floridian. We did the dinner character dining here a few years ago. The food is buffet style, nothing spectacular but Cinderella’s step sisters are amazing and worth the experience to me. They decided to pick on my younger brother and it was fabulous.
Unrelated to Disney but in Orlando Giordano’s is Chicago style pizza with a few locations in the area. We typically eat here once a trip. They will deliver to most hotels in the area too. My husband lived in Chicago for a while when he was younger so he truly enjoys the pizza. It is definitely different if you have never had it.
